What happens when I call LCLPA for help?
LCLPA Helpline: 888-999-1941
Confidential • 24/7/365
Whether it is stress, mental health, substance use, or grief, life does not follow a 9–5 schedule. Our helpline is always answered by a person: LCLPA staff during business hours and the Medical Bureau of Harrisburg after hours. If after hours, callers are asked, “Is this an emergency? Would you like to speak with someone on-call?” and our rotating LCLPA staff are ready.
Callers can remain 100% anonymous and receive all confidential services. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. We meet people where they are.
We also support LAPs nationwide and maintain reciprocity to ensure caller anonymity across state programs.
It takes courage to pick up a 4,000-pound phone. We are here anytime.
Is the call really free and confidential?
Yes. All calls and services provided by LCL are 100% free and confidential—your privacy is fully respected.
Do I have to take any action after I call?
No. Your call does not commit you to anything. You’ll receive support and information without pressure.
Can LCLPA help my loved one directly?
Yes. LCLPA can offer a free, confidential evaluation for your loved one by a qualified healthcare professional, along with resources to support them as they navigate this process.
What if I need support, too?
If you’re struggling with your own mental health or substance use concerns, support is available. We offer free confidential evaluations and resources, whether you’re affected by a loved one’s substance use or mental health challenge or facing challenges of your own. You don’t have to go through it alone.
